and Space Museum is located near Ashland, Nebraska,
along Interstate 80. The Museum is a 300,000 square
foot building that features a glass atrium, two aircraft
display hangars, a traveling exhibit area, a children's
interactive gallery, a 200-seat theater, a Museum
store, an aircraft restoration gallery, and a snack
bar. The glass atrium is a breathtaking structure
constructed of 525 glass panels that encase the awesome
Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird. A unique feature of the
Museum gives visitors the opportunity to watch the
restoration of warplanes as technicians prepare them

Fun-Plex is an combination amusement park and waterpark.
There are 12 rides in the amusement park, including
a junior roller coaster and several midway favorites
like a Tilt-a-Whirl and Rock-o-Plane. The adjacent
waterpark has a wave pool, lazy river, kiddie poll
and a couple of waterslides. Admission to the waterpark
and amusement park are separate, but Fun-Plex does
offer a combo ticket that includes both. |

Heartland Of America
Park is located in downtown Omaha and features a fountain
as well as gondola rides for interested parties, visitors
will enjoy the breathtaking beauty of a lake and two
fountains. The more modern, computerized Heartland
of America fountain shoots water 300 feet into the
air and features a colorful nighttime light show.
A ride on the General Marion tour boat proves interesting,
as well as fun. Live concerts add to the relaxed atmosphere
on Friday nights in June, July and August. Admission
is free. |

The Joslyn Art
Museum is the principal fine arts museum in the state
of Nebraska, United States of America. Located in
Omaha, it is the only museum in the state with a comprehensive
permanent collection. Although it includes works from
antiquity to the present day, its greatest strengths
are in nineteenth and twentieth century American and
European art. It occupies a large and impressive Art
Deco building designed by Alan McDonald, largely constructed
of marble of many different kinds, close to downtown
Omaha. There are many decorative panels on Native
American themes. In addition to its permanent collections,
the museum mounts regular special exhibitions. It
also serves as an important regional educational and
artistic resource, and its building includes an auditorium
where regular concerts are held.

Stadium is a baseball stadium in Omaha, Nebraska.
It serves as the home of both the minor league Omaha
Royals and the annual NCAA Division I College World
Series. Since 1950, Omaha and Rosenblatt Stadium have
become home to one of the unique championships in
the US. Every year, over 250 baseball teams around
the country begin the season with the dream of playing
in "The Blatt". 64 teams reach the NCAA
Tournament, and the final eight left standing get
to pack their bags for 10 days in Omaha. Rosenblatt
Stadium, along with the entire city of Omaha, has
become somewhat of a Mecca for college baseball. Johnny
Rosenblatt Stadium is one of the few stadiums that
still uses live music instead of prerecorded music
Lambert Bartak, an organist for the Royals, holds
the distinction of being the only organist ever ejected
during a game. |
